“Are you a work friend of Sienna’s, Marcus?”
Marcus shook his head and pushed one hand into the front pocket of his jeans, pushing it down to make the waistband of his jeans lower and reveal a glimpse of his flat tummy.
Danny’s gaze swung down and he shifted on the seat.
Yep, I’m not wrong about him.
“No, a university friend actually. We only catch up a couple of times a year, which is a shame. She’s a good chick.” Marcus took another drag of his cigarette and realized he was beginning to enjoy it. Damn. It looked like the years of abstinence hadn’t quenched his appetite for them after all.
“You here with your girlfriend? How does she feel about Sienna?” Danny’s question surprised him and he couldn’t help a grin spreading over his face.
Young and full of confidence, this one. He liked that. Fearless too, which gave him hope that they’d make it past this one conversation.
“No, no girlfriend. And if I did have a partner, they wouldn’t care about Sienna, though she is gorgeous.”
Marcus deliberately drew out the moment of truth, curious to see what the youngster would do. Danny’s mouth tightened in an uncomfortable way, which made him extremely pleased. He’d hooked Danny’s interest, now he just had to wait for him to ask the question that hung in the air.
“Your girlfriends don’t get jealous?”
Marcus chuckled and smiled his most charming smile at Danny. The smile that made most guys melt. “I’m gay. I haven’t dated a chick in almost ten years, they never really did it for me anyway.”
Danny nodded and reached for another cigarette, his hands shaking as he slid another from its case. Well, that wasn’t exactly the response Marcus had been hoping for, but at least there was a reaction.
Marcus heard someone coming and turned toward the newcomer. He couldn’t decide if they had good timing or bad, either way his exclusive time with Danny had just drawn to a close.
